2016. What a year. Almost nothing about this year went the way I thought it would, though in the long run, it was all definitely for the better.
For those reading this who don’t already know my 2016 story, allow me to catch you up to speed. For the past four years, I worked for a designer jewelry e-tailer that meant the world to me in so many ways. When I started there as the editorial associate, we were in an exciting period of growth and I learned SO much about the e-comm world and how to be a good digital marketer. The company experienced many changes in 2016–some sad and some happy–but ultimately shut its doors in the fourth quarter of this year, leaving me wondering what the heck to do next.
Luckily, when the company closed I had already launched this little website here. I’m very grateful that I had the foresight to give myself this creative outlet and begin building a community around it. Meanwhile, I’ve gone on job interviews and networked with some incredible people, with hopes of returning to a conventional work life.
But of all the opportunities I’ve considered, I’ve decided to hire myself, effective immediately, to grow The Neon Tea Party brand to its fullest potential. I’m continually blown away by the positive feedback I’ve received in the two and a half months since launch. People truly seem to connect with the TNTP aesthetic and all the lifestyle content that showcases it. As such, I am convinced there is a big place for The Neon Tea Party in the lifestyle space.
With that said, I officially declare that we’re going all the way, people! Tell your friends. Tell your family. Tell your next door neighbor’s girlfriend’s aunt! This is the beginning of something MAJOR and all of you can say that you were here from the beginning.
So what’s next?
DIY parties. A site redesign. A shop. LOTS and LOTS of content. Just to name a few…
Obstacles await that I can’t even fathom right now but I am ready to take them on, to endlessly problem solve, to create clever content that you’ll adore, to work until The Neon Tea Party becomes the force I believe it can be.
So what can you do to help? TELL EVERYONE. Email my site to your friends. Sign up for my weekly email. Follow me on Instagram & tag all your color-loving besties. Follow my Pinterest account (my fave platform). And keep tuning in for more fun!
Wishing you all glorious inspiration, endless joy and creative pursuits in 2017!
peace, love & neon,
