DIY with Cotton: Denim Statement Earrings

For my third and final trick, I will turn old jean shorts and some rhinestones into beautiful, lightweight statement earrings!

This DIY was inspired by many of the fabric-backed earrings I’ve encountered over the years by designers like Suzanna Dai, Deepa Gurnani, J.Crew and even Prada. I’ve always loved how this style of earring makes a major impact without the weight, and what better fabric to anchor these earrings than ever-versatile denim.

To bring these stunners to life, I wore them to jazz up a simple spring look: an ivory crochet-trimmed dress, a vintage camo shirt jacket, and lace-up sandals from Madewell. They’d do just as well paired with a t-shirt and patterned trousers or worn to a daytime wedding.
