About the Creative Intern Role
Creative intern needed for Summer 2019! Work one-on-one with the business’ owner, Marisa, and learn what it’s really like to start a small creative business. If you’ve ever considered the possibility of starting your own creative business in the future or are interested in art/crafting education, this opportunity will be highly valuable for you.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist at craft workshops (occasional evenings and weekends for a few hours)
- Pack customer orders
- Prep and pack supplies for craft workshops and events
- Make project samples for workshops and photography
- Organize craft supplies
- Organize photography assets
- Assist at blog photo shoots
- And more!
You’ll bring these skills and strengths to the role:

- Highly organized and professional
- Strong interest in creative entrepreneurship and/or art/crafting education
- Love of crafting a must
- Craft skills a major plus!

Upon completion of this position, the student will develop the following skills:
Insight into small business ownership - where to begin, how to develop a strong business idea, and how to put your idea to work. How to prepare for and lead a workshop. Basic ecommerce knowhow. Master craft skills including pom poms, tassels, friendship bracelets, and more.
Availability:
Creative intern will ideally report to the TNTP office in Meatpacking, NYC from 10am - 5pm on Monday and Wednesday, and 10am - 2pm on Friday, plus attendance at occasional workshops in the NYC area in the evenings and on weekend days. Exact days and hours will be worked out with intern to accommodate both their and TNTP’s needs.
Workspace/computer:
We are unable to provide a computer, however you will have a workspace. Most work will be done offline, however in the event a project calls for computer work, we will require you to bring your own laptop computer.
Compensation:
In addition to school credit, interns will receive private education in the following crafts: pom poms, tassels, friendship bracelets, and more. Interns will have the opportunity to attend The Neon Tea Party's workshops to continue their crafting education and observe best practices for leading craft workshops.
