ABOUT THE ROLE:

Hello awesome crafty person! We are hiring TEAchers Assistants to join our TEAchers in hosting awesome craft workshops in South Orange/Maplewood, NJ, and the surrounding area. If you want to make money while doing extremely fun crafts and meeting wonderful people, this job is for you! Craft TEAcher Assistants will be given the opportunity to graduate to TNTP-Certified Craft TEAchers.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Assist a TNTP-Certified Craft TEAcher to teach crafts at private events (birthday parties, corporate events, bridal showers & more)
  • Assist TNTP Certified Craft TEAcher in teaching Tie Dye (Classic and Shibori), Pom Poms, Tassels, Beading, Embroidery and more! 
  • Help set up and break down craft supplies at events
  • Dedicate time to prepare for events by studying craft project guides and practicing techniques
  • Join 30 minute pre-event calls with Events Director to prepare for event 
  • Earn on-the-ground crafting and events experience and guarantee a spot in Fall/Winter TNTP Teacher Training Class! 

EVENTS DESCRIPTION:

  • Most events are about 2 hours long; the rate is adjusted for longer events. 
  • Event schedule generally includes 45 minutes of setup, 1 hour of crafting, 30 minutes of cleanup
  • Events range from kids birthday parties (ages 5+), adult parties, block parties, corporate events and larger festivals

  • Loves to hang out with people
  • Positive attitude and good vibes
  • Can transport yourself to and from events
  • Bonus but not required: Available to pick up materials at TNTP Headquarters in South Orange, NJ

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Teacher Assistants will make $100 per 2 hour event. Rate increases to $150 once you are a certified teacher. 
  • Candidate will also enjoy crafty benefits including a 15% discount to the TNTP Shop
