Lesson: How to Make a Chevron Friendship Bracelet
Chevron pattern is comprised of a half rows of forwards knots and half rows of backwards knots that connect in the center to create a series of Vs. Once you've conquered Candy Stripe, it's time to try this classic pattern!
Jump to section:

- Omegacryl yarn or embroidery floss in a variety of colors
- Tape measure
- Washi tape or safety pin
- Small scissors

step one
Choose whatever colors you'd like to include in your design, then cut two 36" strands of each. Tie all of your strands together 3” down, then separate strands so that the color order mirrors itself. Note that the color order of your strands will be the color order of your chevron pattern.

step two
Starting with the strand on the far left (blue) tie a series of forwards knots until it reaches the center, then stop.

step three
Next, using the strand on the far right (other blue), tie a series of backwards knots until you reach the middle of the pattern, then stop.

step four
Create the point of the "V" by knotting one strand around the other twice, using either a forwards knot or backwards knot -- it doesn't make a difference which one.

step five
That completes your first chevron row! Next, repeat the process with the new outermost strands (pink).

step six
Continue until your bracelet is long enough to fit around your wrist. Finish your bracelet using the instructions here.
